She was born in Santa Monica California, the United States of America on the 26th of November the 26th of November, 1986. The singer is the child of father Vincenzo Barba, and mother Valerie Barba. The family relocated from Point Pleasant in New Jersey at the age of six. In New Jersey, she finished her education through Red Bank Catholic High School. She continued her education through Catholic University where she earned an undergraduate degree in architecture. From the age of 4 She began playing the violin, earning her the name Violin Girl. As a result of her music performance, she was referred to as the Violin Girl. The children of her neighborhood were instructed to play the violin by her.
